I TEST NO. 1: Knows the Plan of Salvation

1a The possession of knowledge

1b Could you share the plan of salvation with another? Can’t think on my feet!

2b Could you write it down in the privacy of your home?

2a The necessity of knowledge

1b It is impossible for someone to be saved without the knowledge of the truth! (Lk. 1:77; 1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Tim. 3:7; 1 Cor. 15:34; Jn. 14:6)

2b Here is one of the reasons it is so crucial that we are so demanding, specific, and clear when it comes to salvation!

II TEST NO. 2: Accepts the Word of God as True

1a Stated

1b There are many things within the Scriptures that appear foolish to the unbelieving mind

1c Supernatural events: Creation, Noah’s flood, parting of the Red Sea, etc.

2c Calls to action: loving our enemies; sacrifices, hell and heaven, etc.

2b When a person becomes a Christian, he receives the Holy Spirit who confirms as true to our spirits the truth of the unproven (1 Cor. 2:14-15; 3:19-20)

2a Applied: if a “Christian” questions the difficult things in the Scripture, it is evidence he probably does not know the One who authored – to know the author is to accept the truth

III TEST NO. 3: Desire to Know the Word of God

1a Stated

1b The true believer has a hunger for righteousness of the things of God (Matt. 5:6)

2b This hunger drives the believer to search out the Word of God in which is righteousness (Heb. 5:13)

2a Applied – no desire to learn and know the Scriptures – not truly a believer

IV TEST NO. 4: Enduring Persecution and Trials

1a Stated

1b A true believer is one whose faith is able to withstand the attacks of the world (Jn. 15:18-20; 2 Tim. 3:12; 1 Pet. 1:6-7)

2b These things do not lessen his walk, but strengthens it and confirms it (Abraham offering up Isaac

2a Applied: if one makes ship wreak his faith when trials and persecution come his way it is probably a good indication there was nothing genuine to begin with

V TEST NO. 5: A Changed Life

1b A change takes place in the life of an individual who has been saved (2 Cor. 5:17; 1 Jn. 2:3-6; 3:24)

2b The change may be not dramatic at first, but it is there just the same and continues on growing

1b What changes have take place in your lives

2b We change not because we have too but because we want too! – difference between regeneration and rehabilitation

VI TEST NO. 6: Desires Fellowship with God's People

1a Stated

1b The age old idea that you can be a Christian without attending church and fellowshipping with believers is a myth

2b Those who are truly saved, desire to be other family members in the body of Christ (1 Pet. 1:22; 1 Jn. 3:14)
